The Challenge the Champions Contest includes an:

  • SMS Challenge
  • Online Challenge

 

Contest Duration

  1. This contest begins on 1 October 2007, 00:00 Singapore time and closes on 30 November 2007, 23:59 Singapore time.

Acceptance of conditions

  1. Information regarding prizes and the method of participation form part of these terms and conditions. By participating in this Contest, Participants accept and agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. This Contest is subject to the laws of Singapore and is not offered outside of Singapore.

Eligibility

  1. A Participant can participate in the Contest via SMS (SMS Challenge) or via the Internet (Online Challenge).
  2. To participate in the contest and be eligible to win a prize, Participants must purchase at least one Gillette product from the following list on or after 1st October 2007:
    1. Gillette Fusion Power Razor
    2. Gillette Fusion Razor
  3. To qualify for the prizes, a valid barcode found on all packs of Gillette Fusion Power Razor & Gillette Fusion Razor must be entered when registering for the contest.
    • The bar code is a 13 digit number found on the back of Gillette Fusion Power Razor & Gillette Fusion Razor packs.
  4. If a Participant chooses not to purchase a product and enter the barcode of the product for the Online Challenge, he or she will NOT be eligible to win any prizes.
  5. The Participant for the SMS Challenge requires a barcode to take part. If a barcode is invalid or not provided, the Participant will be disqualified.
  6. Contest participation is open to all Singapore residents aged 18 or over as of November 30 2007.
  7. Employees of P&G and their partner agencies are not eligible to enter the contest.

Method of Participation

SMS Challenge

  1. The SMS Challenge is based on any of the following games: Soccer, Tennis & Golf
  2. To enter the contest, a Participant must SMS Champions<space>game name <space> barcode <space> first name <space> last name <space> age <space> gender to 73300.
    1. Example: Champions Soccer 1234567890123 John Smith 22 M
  3. Once the above is submitted, the Participant will receive one question with multiple answer options (A, B or C) based on the selected game and short instructions on how to reply.
  4. To qualify for the prizes, the Participant must answer the question correctly, and send the answer in the following format: SMS Champions <space> answer to 73300
    1. Example: Champions A

 

Online Challenge

  1. To enter the Online Challenge, the Participant must log on to  www.gillettechampions.com.sg (the "website")
  2. On the website, the Participant can select to play a game of Golf, Football, or Tennis.
  3. To qualify for the contest, the Participant must follow the instructions on the website, complete 3 levels ("one game cycle") of at least 1 game, and register or login to save his or her score.
  4. The Participant can choose to play the games for an unlimited number of times. However, only the highest score achieved for the game will be saved and considered for the awarding of prizes.

 

Winner selection

  1. There are 2 types of winners that will be selected
    1. ONE grand prize, overall Challenge the Champions contest winner
    2. FOUR (4) second prize winners, for overall Challenge the Champions contest
    3. 100 mass prize winners, for overall Challenge the Champions contest
    4. 48 weekly winners – 3 weekly winners each for SMS, CTC
    5. 1000 Early Bird Winners
  2. The overall contest winners (1 x Grand Prize, 4 x Second Prize & 100 x Mass Prizes) will be selected between a pool of finalists comprised of the top 35 contestants for each SMS, CTC Online – a total pool of 70 finalists.
  3. All top finalists are identified based on the best scores achieved throughout the entire Gillette Fusion Power: Challenge the Champions Contest.
  4. The finalists who did not submit the slogan will be contacted individually to submit a slogan "Gillette is The Best a Man Can Get because………………." and the best slogan will win the grand prize.
  5. The next top 4 slogans will win the Second Prizes & rest of finalists will win the 100 mass prizes allocated.
  6. Weekly winners will be selected from Top 3 contestants for each SMS, Online challenges every 7 days from start of contest on September 15th, 2007.
  7. Weekly winners will only be eligible to win the weekly prizes ONLY once, after which they will be disqualified from subsequent weekly drawings.
  8. All weekly winners will remain eligible for the overall contest grand prize, second prizes & mass prizes.
  9. The first 1000 users to register with purchase (terms as mentioned above) will receive an Early Bird prize.

Prizes

  1. 1 x Grand prize:
    1. The grand prize winner will win a two day return trip to Melbourne, Australia in 2008 to meet Roger Federer.
    2. The trip includes 1 return fare (economy class) ticket, accommodation for 2 nights and 3 meals per day for each winner.
    3. Winners are to ensure relevant travel documents are prepared prior to the trip.
    4. The exact date of the trip will be announced after the promotion.
    5. The winners will not be allowed to request for a change in the dates of the trip.
    6. P&G reserves the right to change the location of the event from Melbourne to another location at their discretion.
  2. 4 x Second Place prizes
    1. 4 winners will be awarded a limited edition Gillette Champions T-Shirt signed by Thierry Henry
    2. A total of 4 second place prizes will be awarded after the promotion ends.
  3. 100 x Mass Prizes
    1. 100 winners will be awarded a limited edition Gillette Champions backpack AND polo shirt
    2. A total of 100 mass prizes will be awarded after the promotion ends.
  4. 48x Weekly prizes
    1. 48 winners will be awarded a limited edition Gillette Champions fleece sweatshirt
    2. A total of 48 weekly prizes will be awarded within the contest period.
  5. 1000 x Early Bird prizes
    1. 1000 winners will be awarded limited edition Gillette Champions LCD Watches
  6. All prize recipients will be notified with details on how to claim their prize.
  7. All prize recipients must follow given instructions for claiming their prize, failing which they may not receive their prize.
  8. All prize recipients may be required to sign a form of legal release to be determined by P&G in its absolute discretion.
  9. Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable for cash or kind.
  10. Prizes that are not claimed by January 15 2008 shall be forfeited.
  11. P&G may in its absolute discretion substitute any prize with another item it deems to be an appropriate replacement of equal or higher value as determined by P&G.

Publicity

  1. Prize recipients must, at P&G's request and free of any charge, participate in any promotional activity (such as publicity and photography) surrounding the receiving of the prize, and he/she consents to P&G using his/her name and image in any promotional material.

Notification of Contest Winners

  1. Contest winners will be notified by telephone call to his/ her mobile phone or email for which either the contact information shall be the number used by the Participant for submission of the answers in the SMS Challenge, or the registration in the Online Challenge. P&G reserves the right to use any other method or medium P&G deems fit at its sole and absolute discretion for the purpose of announcing the Contest winners.
  2. Upon request, Contest winners will be required to provide their original receipt, contact details, I.C. Number and any other details deemed necessary and relevant by P&G at its discretion within forty eight (48) hours upon receiving the request/notification from P&G.
  3. Proof of mailing, faxing, or delivering (in any manner whatsoever) any details to P&G does not denote proof that P&G has received such details.
  4. P&G reserves the right to forfeit prizes for any Contest winner who does not provide the required verification upon receiving the request/notification from P&G.
  5. P&G reserves the right to appoint a third party to conduct the verification of Contest winners and to fulfill the delivery of prizes and Participants agree that P&G may provide all necessary information of Contest winners to such a third party to facilitate such service.

Terms of participation

  1. P&G accepts no responsibility for late, lost, incomplete, incorrectly submitted, delayed, illegible, corrupted or misdirected submissions made by the Participant whether due to error, omission, alteration, tampering, deletion, theft, destruction, transmission interruption, communications failure, virus attack, unauthorized data hacking, data corruption, software or hardware failure or any other cause whatsoever.
  2. P&G has no control over networks or lines and accepts no responsibility for any problems associated with them, whether due to traffic congestion, technical malfunction or otherwise.
  3. P&G is not liable for any consequences of Participant error including (without limitation) costs incurred.
  4. All submissions shall become the property of P&G, who may use Participants' personal information for future promotional and marketing activities of P&G. For more information about P&G's privacy policy, please read P&G's Privacy Policy here

Disqualification of Submissions

  1. P&G may, in its sole discretion, disqualify any submissions, and prohibit further participation in this Contest by, any person who tampers with or benefits from any tampering with the submission process or with the operation of this Contest or acts in violation of these terms and conditions, acts in a disruptive manner or acts with the intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person.

Problems affecting competition

  1. If for any reason any aspect of this Contest is not capable of running as planned, including by reason of infection by computer virus, network failure, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any cause beyond the control of P&G which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Contest, P&G may in its sole discretion cancel, terminate, modify or suspend this Contest, or invalidate any affected submissions.

Exclusion of Liability

  1. P&G and its related companies and agencies will not be liable for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect, special or consequential loss or loss of profits), expense, damage, personal injury or death which is suffered or sustained (whether or not arising from any person's negligence) in connection with this Contest or the acceptance or use of any prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law (in which case that liability is limited to the minimum allowable by law).
  2. Nothing on the Website, or on any other website of P&G, or relating to this Contest, shall be construed as conferring any license or other rights under the intellectual property or other proprietary rights of P&G or its related companies or any third party, whether by estoppels, implication or otherwise.
  3. P&G and/or its agent shall be licensed to evaluate all submissions for the purposes of this Contest, including verification and as specified in these terms and conditions.
  4. The software and programming code and media relating to the Website and Promotion-related communication is protected by the applicable laws of copyright, trademark, patent, unfair competition and other proprietary laws.

Tax Statement

  1. P&G accepts no responsibility for any tax implications that may arise from the prize winnings.

Miscellaneous

  1. P&G's decisions shall be final in all matters relating to this Contest and no correspondences will be entertained.
  2. P&G reserves the right to change these terms and conditions without prior notice.
  3. A Participant shall be deemed to have notice of any such amendments or interpretations upon publication of the same on the Website and shall be deemed to have accepted such amendments or interpretations by virtue of his/her continued participation in this Contest. Should a Participant not wish to continue to participate in this Contest pursuant to the prevailing terms and conditions as amended or interpreted, he/she may terminate participation in this Contest upon written notice to P&G.
  4. P&G may in its absolute discretion extend any time limit or waive any of these terms and conditions where a Participant might otherwise be disqualified.
